Babs isn't a fan of President Bush.
So during her concert at Madison Square Garden she brought out a Bush impersonator.
The president-double babbled on like a boob, and that had some Bush supporters in the audience jeering Babs. One told her she should stick to singing.
After a few more heckles, Babs asked the crowd, "Come on, be polite." But true to the law of dipshits one guy wouldn't stop.
Finally Barbra had enough. "Shut the fuck up!..Shut up if you can't take a joke!"
The hecklers did. Streisand later apologized.
There were other audience outbursts as well, but they were good humored. "Marry me, and I'm gay!" one man yelled out to Streisand. To which she replied: "There are gay people here?"
You gotta love her.

15 Smack Talkers:
Why can't singers and actors stick to singing and acting, respectively, instead of pushing their political and/or social agenda that they think they know everything about. This one's probably going to stir the pot, so I'm using my name!
...and her "there's gay people here?" comment was funny!
I can understand the hecklers, especially since her ticket prices were anywhere from $105-755. (not including ticketmaster charges.) They paid to hear her crappy songs, not a trite comedy routine.
I think paying that much is ridiculous in the first place... especially for her.
I don't have to love her, she a egotistical bitch.
She is the furthest thing from being an "egotistical bitch."
She is one of the more real stars out there.
no, you don't gotta love her. People paid to hear her sing, not to witness a political schtick. This was not the venue for that. The hecklers were disrescpectful of her because she was disrespectful of the audience. I hope people boycott her next concerts.
Im surprised anyone would boo a Bush parody.
p.s. she still sucks.
Barbra is amazing! Bush sucks. :)
Hey it's her show, she can do whatever she feels like. I like it when celebs speak their minds about political issues. Beacuse most americans don't have any idea what's really going on in the world, it can take a celeb that people actually listin to, to make people aware of whats going on outside their fast food consuming, tv watching, materialistic cozy comfortable lives. Bush is a total nazi fearmonger and the only people that actually still support him are the pathetic sheep americans listed above.
Not the bloggers i mean, the ones i mentioned in my rant:)
I don't support Bush at all, but I have a hard time believing that a celebrity knows more about political situations than the average American who takes the meager time to be informed. I find it pathetic if someone get their political information from a celebrity at a concert (or any other means of a soapbox.)
I know it's Barbara's show, but people paid hundres of dollars per ticket to hear her sing, not to watch a weak "comedy" skit that has probably been run into the ground on SNL a million times before.
You don't gotta love her, I cannot stand her! She is a hypocrite in the worst way. :)
I think the article on this blog explains it all to those who were wondering about Barbra and politics...

I knew she was going to do the Bush bashing thing bcse it was all over the papers but I had no idea it was in such bad taste. I went to her So. Florida concert last night, ea. ticket was $352.00 SHE KILLED THE MOOD WITH THAT! She is not a funny girl anymore she is a
a pushy old lady.......WE left without applauding at the end, did not care to hear encore if there was any.
Oh Please! It was a comedy skit... not the f'ing end of the world!
Her show was GREAT!! Some know talent. Others like crap. Get a grip. Bashing Streisand is lazy.
